Fire Chief David Long

David Long was appointed to Fire Chief of the Norwich Township Fire Department in 2004. He began his career with Norwich Township in 1975 as a part-time firefighter. Since then, Chief Long has served as a Lieutenant and Assistant Fire Chief.

Born and raised in the Hilliard area, Chief Long grew up in the Hilliard community, graduating from Hilliard High School. He holds as Associates Degree in Fire Science from Columbus State Community College. Chief Long is currently enrolled in The Ohio Fire Chiefs Executive Officer Program. He is a certified Paramedic, a fire instructor, and a fire inspector. Chief Long is currently a member of the Franklin County Fire Chiefs’ Association, the Ohio Fire Chiefs’ Association and also the International Association of Fire Chiefs. He has served as president of the Central Ohio Fire Chiefs. Chief Long is married and has 2 children.

Assistant Fire Chief Robert Kaufman

Robert Kaufman was appointed to Assistant Fire Chief of the Norwich Township Fire Department in 2004. He began his career with Norwich Township in 1985 as a part-time firefighter. Since then, Asst. Chief Kaufman has served as a Lieutenant and Captain.

Born and raised in the Hilliard area, Asst. Chief Kaufman grew up in the Hilliard community, graduating from Hilliard High School. He is a certified Paramedic, an EMS and fire instructor, and fire inspector. He is currently a member of the Franklin County Fire Chiefs’ Association, the Ohio Fire Chiefs’ Association and also the International Association of Fire Chiefs. Asst. Chief Kaufman is currently serving on the Board of the Central Ohio Trauma System, representing other central Ohio Fire Chiefs. Asst. Chief Kaufman is married and has 2 daughters, 1 stepson, and 5 grandsons.
