New Norwich Township Joint Safety Services Building

Ground breaking ceremony held October 10, 2007

Norwich Township, along with the City of Hilliard, broke ground for the new Noriwch Township Joint Safety Services Building on October 10, 2007. This joint project, the first of its kind in Ohio, will provide state of the art facilities for Norwich Township and the City of Hilliard. When complete, this 9.4 million dollar project will house the Norwich Township Trustees and Administration offices, Norwich Township Fire Department Administration offices, Norwich Township Station 81, the Hilliard Police Department, the Hilliard Emergency Dispatch Center and the Hilliard Clerk of Courts.

This new facility will consist of just over 63,000 square feet. Norwich Township Fire Department will occupy 24,000 square feet, while the Hilliard Police Department will occupy 29,000 square feet. There will be about 10,000 square feet of space that will be shared by both groups. Meacham & Apel designed this building. The contractors for this project are as follows:
