Born and raised in the Hilliard area, Chief Kaufman grew up in the Hilliard community, graduating from Hilliard High School. He is a certified Paramedic, an EMS and fire instructor, and fire inspector. He is currently a member of the Franklin County Fire Chiefs' Association, the Ohio Fire Chiefs’ Association and also the International Association of Fire Chiefs. Chief Kaufman is currently serving on the Board of the Central Ohio Trauma System, representing other central Ohio Fire Chiefs. Chief Kaufman is married and has 2 daughters, 1 stepson, 5 grandsons and 2 granddaughters. |
Robert Kaufman was appointed to Fire Chief of the Norwich Township Fire Department in 2012. He began his career with Norwich Township in 1985 as a part-time firefighter. Since then, Chief Kaufman has served as a Lieutenant, Captain and Asst. Fire Chief.
