Construction - Wesley Chapel Cemetery Expansion
Beginning in the spring of 2020, the expansion construction is taking place on approximately two acres of land near the curve of Dublin Road. Due to the historical value of the Wesley Chapel Cemetery, the expansion project sets focus on the conservation and preservation of the cold storage area that once served as a temporary tomb while burial plans were made or if a grave could not be dug due to freezing temperatures.
The expansion also includes black iron gates on the cold storage area, landscaping, a bridge, a ceremonial plaza with in-ground cremation plots, a labyrinth, memorial benches, a meditation garden, a children’s garden with a wishing well and peace rocks, five columbariums with niches, and cremation memorial walking paths. The entire site will be ADA accessible and at full buildout, there will be approximately 1,300 cremation plots available to residents
The expansion is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2021.
